A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF NORTONVILLE, KANSAS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 25-2108a, RELATING TO PRIMARY ELECTIONS; AND BEGINNING TERM OF ELECTED OFFICIALS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF NORTONVILLE, KANSAS;

SECTION ONE: The City of Nortonville, Kansas, by the power vested in it pursuant to Article 12, Section 5 of the Kansas Constitution hereby elects and does exempt itself and make inapplicable the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2108a and amendments thereto, which apply to this City, but are parts of enactments which do not apply uniformly to all cities.

SECTION TWO: The term of officers elected shall commence on the second Wednesday of January following certification of the election and the elected officials shall qualify by taking the oath of office to be filed with the county clerk.
